OUR
STORY
What began as a bulletin board-style forum project in 2012, as Jewish Survivors Forum, with over 200 members, and turned into an extremely active 24/7 peer support chat on Telegram in 2019, is now the only peer support services organization that exclusively serves Jewish survivors of sexual abuse.

Did we foresee any of this way back in 2012? Heck no. But as the years went by, it became exceedingly clear that there was a large gap in services being provided in the Jewish community for Jewish sexual abuse survivors.

So here we are.

COMMUNITY"

Here's How We Can Support You:
Peer support groups
JSU Peer Support Groups are led by compassionate, experienced, and credentialed trauma support specialists whose goal it is to create safe spaces to share and connect with other survivors.
24/7 peer support chat
Our moderated Telegram peer support chat is available to our members to get/give support or to just hang out together and talk about the day. It's like your family group chat, but healthier!
Empowerment Teams
Work with our trained, certified peer support specialists to get unstuck, create goals, stay accountable, and create a life to be proud of.
Goals Groups
Enjoy that group support experience? Our Goals Groups are just like our Empowerment Teams, but in a group format that meets monthly!
Resource Coordination
We can help you find community resources to make sure that your basics are taken care of. We know it's a frustrating process, but we'll be there to hold your hand (and let you vent!), whenever you need us to!
Healing workshops
From discovering different healing modalities to learning new life skills, our workshops are planned with the unique needs of survivors in mind..
Community building
For so many of us, our support systems abandoned us when we disclosed abuse. At JSU, we help survivors rebuild communities that they can depend on!
Crisis Management
Getting a survivor to physical safety and out of an abusive environment is of utmost importance. Our experienced crisis management coordinators can help you create a safety plan and help manage resources in an emergency.
All of our services are offered at no cost to survivors.
We also appreciate that reaching out for support is difficult and we make every effort to respond to your inquiry in a timely fashion and to do what we can to create a space that fosters trust and safety.
